Photo Crop Exercise

This crop improves the composition of the photograph by focusing on the pair of subjects in the foreground, and eliminating the non-essential pair in the left third of the photograph. The photo's composition is broken into thirds by the the subjects in the lower third and the horizon in the upper third.

This crop improves on the original photograph by focusing on the unique architectural features of the building. Removing the tourists in the foreground forces the viewer to focus only photo's subject.

Cropping out the third party who is not engaging the camera like the other two subjects removes a distracting element to the composition.

This crop emphasizes B.B. King's Blues Club by removing the distracting elements across the street, as well as the pedestrian. By removing all signs of activity from the photograph the street gains a ghostly aesthetic quality.

This crop is en example of how an abstract composition can be pulled from an ordinary snapshot.  Before the crop, all visual interest throughout the composition was cluttered by random placement of subjects. By removing all individuals from the photograph, the composition itself.

By removing the large dead space of road from the lower right of the original photo, the photos composition flows much more smoothly.
